Eliot Cheuk
Therapy Intern
I am a dedicated therapy intern currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at Boise State University, building on a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development with an emphasis in biological development and family studies from Brigham Young University. With a passion for supporting individuals through various life stages, I am developing my capacity to specialize in working with children, late teens, young adults, college-aged individuals, and adults.
I believe in the importance of meeting clients where they are, fostering a safe and collaborative therapeutic environment. I am passionate in developing my capacity in strength-based and solution-focused techniques, along with mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral strategies, psychodynamic and play therapy methods, as well as Christian counseling to empower clients in overcoming challenges related to mental and behavioral issues, marriage and family relationships, religious trauma, and self-esteem.
With the past couple of years of experience working with late teens and young adults in classrooms, workshops, and personal settings, I have developed a strong foundation in facilitating groups and individual environments. I also volunteered at a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and an autism academy, gaining valuable insights into the diverse needs of clients.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring nature, music, and social interactions, which enhances my
commitment to holistic well-being.
It will be a dream come true to contribute to the therapeutic community and support clients in their journeys toward healing and growth.
